Artistic meeting and exhibition of Chinese paintings with the Salon d’Automne
On May 13, will be held the opening of the exhibition NEW SILK ROAD OF THE 21st CENTURY of the Salon d’Automne in China.
A 175 works collection, all from Salon d’Automne’s selection, will come to meet 100 works of Chinese painting, created by Shaanxi Province’s artists for museum inauguration in the center of the future Xi’An International City of Arts. This exhibition will take place during an international exchange with our artistic partners, as part of the Chinese cultural opening program called “Silk Road, a Belt, a Road”. It is the result of close relations between the Salon d’Automne and the Association of Artists of SHAANXI Province for several years.
The city of Xi’An, literally “peace of the west” is the Province of SHAANXI’s capital and the artistic capital of China. This city, which has a history of over 3,100 years, was the capital of China and was then called Chang’an. The current Xi’an ranks in the ten largest Chinese cities. It has more than eight million inhabitants. Xi’an is the end of the Silk Road considered to have been “opened” by Chinese General Zhang Qian in the 2nd century BC. The city became famous around the world with the discovery, in 1974, of its 2,000 years old buried army. 6,000 life-size terracotta warriors and horses that made up Emperor Qin’s mausoleum.
