The 117th edition of the Salon d’Automne will open the Parisian artistic season, presenting its major annual exhibition from October 14th to 18th, 2020 under pavilions on the Champs Élysées.
Since its creation in 1903, the Salon d’Automne has invited professionals and the public to encounter the work of more than 850 artists from around the globe. The diversity of the mediums that compose it, painting, engraving, sculpture, architecture, drawing, photography, digital art, artists’ books, environmental art, and singular art, is presented in 18 expertly orchestrated sections. The Autumn Salon is also composed of meetings, conferences, talks, concerts, debates and projections.
In 2019, there were 30,000 visitors, including many art professionals, gallery owners, collectors and art lovers. Twenty diplomatic delegations, official representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the City of Paris, its historic partners, attended the salon.
The Autumn Salon also presents its artists internationally. Since 1975, a delegation of artists has participated each year in an exhibition at the National Art Center in Tokyo. There have also been exhibitions in Belarus in 2016, in Cyprus in 2017/18 and China in 2019. Numerous partnerships and projects are born each year that offer new international visibility to the exhibitors selected by the jury.
