Dear Members.
Dear Artists,
I am honoured and delighted to announce that the next Salon d'Automne will be held, as in its historic past on the Champs-Elysées, in autumn, from 22 to 27 October 2024.
Our Salon, which was founded in 1903 on the initiative of a group of close friends, will this year feature a very large number of artists in a variety of disciplines and will, as it does every year, encourage talented young artists who will benefit from an adapted and privileged offer.
We're expecting over 30,000 visitors.
The Salon d'Automne will not betray its history or its determination to defend and present a broad spectrum of the artistic trends of its time.
When we take a superficial look at history and only remember a few of the great names of the past, we often have the impression, quite wrongly, that our elders overcame the difficulties they encountered with ease, but this is not the case. Let's not forget that this show was created precisely to enable artists of different tendencies, and above all outside the academic art of the moment, to express themselves, to show their work and to make a living from their creations.
Let's not forget that, as in the past, we must remain faithful to our values and convictions as artists. Art does indeed have a vital role to play in our society, which often forgets what is essential: the artist, anchored in the present and its topicality, shares his vision of the world and his ideas and plays an active part in shaping the future.
The Salon d'Automne, supported by the public authorities, will continue to develop in France and internationally and will continue to forge solid partnerships with key players in the arts, culture and other sponsors.
The Salon d'Automne looks back with pride, but is firmly focused on the future.
We have some major projects ahead of us this year, and we'll be rising to the challenges.
For the history of our show to continue and for us to remain true to the values that drive it, it is imperative that artists make a determined commitment to the show by contributing their knowledge, skills and experience, in a spirit of sharing.
So we look forward to seeing you all at the next show, which will undoubtedly be a success worthy of the event and its reputation, with works of the highest quality and artists bursting with energy and inspiration.
