With film excerpts, the conference will focus on the beginnings of an art form with a bright future, through the life and work of two exceptional women: Alice Guy (1873-1968), the first director, artistic director of the Gaumont company, and Musidora (1889-1957), the first vampire of the cinema, producer, director and muse of Louis Feuillade for his prestigious "serials", Les Vampires and Judex.

  • 4pm: Transparences, a parade of dreamlike dresses made of recycled plastic bottles by the artist Petra Schwanse.

  • 8pm: Concert by the Parisian salsa group Los Guarijos.

Sunday, October 23

  • 11am: Screening of the film Une semaine de bonté ou les sept éléments capitaux by director Jean Desvilles. Violence, kidnapping, rape, murder: the hallucinatory vision of Max Ernst's "novel" retraces the myth of the creation of the world in 7 days, combined with the elements and the 7 sins, where he deploys in an alchemical collage of illustrations by Gustave Doré.
  • 2pm: Pictur Elle fashion show, Fabienne Thibeault and Edmond Boublil. This collection is inspired by the work of the Breton painter Yves Decaudan; it reproduces silhouettes and forms, on original fabrics, in the "fusion" of the vocal gesture and the pictorial gesture, made tangible by the designer, when the work of the painter comes to dress the body, a living canvas and in movement. The shapes and colors come to life.
"There is no chance in encounters", wrote Paulo Coelho; this appointment with the Salon d'Automne moves and delights me because it comes, as a kind of gift, "to give the la" to an exciting adventure for me: the creation of a collection "Fabienne Thibeault", for round women... Pictur Elle by Edmond Boublil" (Fabienne Thibeault).
